At The Village at Sydney Creek in San Luis Obispo, our Life Enrichment Director oversees the therapeutic and recreational activities for our memory impaired senior residents, coordinate staff schedules, manage and create activities and events, prepare monthly calendar. Recruiting, hiring and training activity team members, including performance management, evaluation and engagement.
Qualifications:
A dedication to seniors and their well-being
Prior management experience, preferably in Memory Care
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to regularly work weekends, as well as some evenings, and be on-call to cover emergencies
Demonstrated good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
The ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate assignments
Scheduling experience is a definite asset
Ability to provide a plan of activities appropriate to the needs of the residents that includes, but is not limited to:
Group social activities.
Indoor and outdoor activities, which may include daily walks.
Activities away from the facility.
Spiritual programs.
Opportunity for resident involvement in planning and implementation of the activities program.
Creative activities such as arts, crafts, music, drama, educational programs
Exercise activities
One to one attention
Promotion of facility / community interaction
Must be willing to work some evenings, weekends and an occasional holiday. Computer skills are essential for this position. Completion of a state approved Activity Director training class or other related classes are a plus.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, TB & physical provided by the company. Competitive wages based on experience along with company paid vacation and holidays (Full & Part Time). Full time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
