We are looking for a person capable of wearing multiple hats. From being the Digital Printer Operator, designer, installer, and Production Team Member.

Well established and growing large format printing and sign company in San Diego is looking for a qualified individual to fill the position of Digital large format Printer Operator. Applicant must be a talented, experienced, mature, responsible, and capable person that is self-motivated and intelligent. Applicant must be personable, open and honest, easy going and have a great sense of humor. They should be out spoken, but respectful. Candidates must be able to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and turn projects around quickly. Should be able to interact directly with clientele and help them with all facets of their job.

The job includes the following responsibilities, but hired individual will wear many hats and work within many aspects of the company.

-Run a large format printer – this includes ripping the files for printing, loading the material into the printer, monitor and adjust printing, and some post production. Some media is heavy and or awkward, so you must be willing to safely lift and load such media.

-Quality control – make sure quality of prints are exceptional

- Maintaining the printer (hybrid UV printer) – cleaning, lubrication, etc.

Some additional tasks may include

-Designing projects for clients from scratch.

-Reviewing files submitted by clients for print worthiness and adjusting as necessary

-Communicating with clients as needed

-Answering phones

-Help with post production activities

You must be competent and friendly.

Must have an excellent attention to detail and high level of care and pride of workmanship.

Previous sign shop experience is a huge plus.

You should have the following skill sets, personal traits, interests, capabilities, etc:

You are a good graphic designer – not mandatory, but very helpful.

Must be adept and proficient at illustrator and Photoshop CS4 or newer.

You offer a strong work ethic.

You are polite and provide stellar customer service and enjoy interacting with customers.

You have EXCELLENT organizational skills – to the level that you can help others.

You are cool under pressure. It can get stressful at times meeting deadlines.

You do not whine.

You handle conflict in a calm and collective manner.

You can manage yourself and projects.

You are a self starter – you do not wait around with your thumb up your ass waiting to be told what to do.

You thrive being in an environment that is typically not thermally ideal.

You are computer literate.

You are courteous and customer friendly – even when they are a PIA

You learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them

Did we say you were organized? We can’t emphasize that one enough

You enjoy, and are competent at doing administrative tasks.

You have a great sense of humor.

You understand that your life comes first, but occasionally you are needed to work on a weekend or stay late. Only occasionally.

You understand that facebook and personal emailing should be done at breaks not while you are on the clock.

You are not lazy.

You are not afraid to get your hands dirty (don’t worry we won’t ask you to change the oil on the forklift – unless you want to)

You have a creative and inventive imagination.

Your are ok with occasionally taking your car to make a delivery or pick something up (supplies, lunch, etc)

This is a Full Time Position. Hours are Monday through Friday 9 to 6. Flex time is available.

Pay is hourly and based off of your current level of experience and capability. Please include your Hourly Rate to be considered. Benefits include co-pay health insurance amongst others.

Company is still small enough that applicant has ability to wear multiple hats and take on various responsibilities, but large enough that we are one of the most respected and prominent manufactures in San Diego with fortune 500 clientele. Projects are fun, rewarding, and challenging.
