About Monart:
Based on the best selling book, 'Drawing with Children' by Mona Brookes, Monart is a specialized drawing method focused on teaching children how to draw realistically while helping them build confidence and develop important skills such as fine-motor, hand-eye coordination, project planning, decision making and problem-solving!
Monart is a specialized method that teaches children of all skill levels to draw realistically while helping them build confidence! Monart's unique method teaches visual perception and fundamental drawing skills to children and teens in a non-competitive environment that promotes confidence and self-esteem. Using the Five Basic Elements of Shape (an artist's 'alphabet') students are able to perceive the composition of the world around them and learn to draw any object using this visual language.
The Monart method offers enough structure for growth and success while allowing for freedom of expression and individuality in each student's work. Since 1992, Monart has placed a high priority on offering art classes at public and private schools in addition to our studio in order to address the decrease of art programs in schools. Monart San Diego has been working to grow our school and extend our classes to more children in more schools throughout San Diego County.
