Iron Mechanical is seeking a highly-skilled and organized individual with demonstrated experience in the construction industry. This person will work very closely with our financial management team to assist in the function of our day-to-day operations within our accounting department. The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, etc.To be successful as a Staff Accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), have familiarity with DAS140 and DAS142 forms, prevailing wage determination, and certified payroll. An ideal Staff Accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.

Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.

Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.

Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.

Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.

Ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Job costing

Process insurance renewal, quotes, applications, certificates, premiums, monthly payroll reports for workers comp, etc.

Assist with financial reporting processes such as billings vs cost reports and/or WIP

Coordinate and assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and cash flow.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements

Assist with general ledger, journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing

Accurate and timely review of tracking subcontractor and supplier lien waivers/releases

Staff Accountant Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field

Construction experience is a must

Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations

Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.

Understanding of data analysis and forecasting

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially excel) and accounting software

Strong organizational skills, detail oriented

Good time-management skills

Ability to work in a team setting
