Individual Therapy: Intern to provide weekly individual therapy for at least two clients depending on experience and capacity.

Case Management: Intern will provide case management for each client seen individually. Case management will include but is not limited to collateral contact, resource-finding, intake, treatment and discharge planning.

Family Therapy: Per learning needs, hourly commitment and ability, intern to co-facilitate family therapy when applicable.

Group Therapy: Depending upon the program and need, interns will propose and work with direct clinical supervisor and staff to develop a time limited, issue-oriented group for clients or families of clients. Interns will co-facilitate this group with social work staff. Intern to record all group notes and ensure continuity of care through excellent communication with treatment teams.

Documentation: Intern to complete all documentation related to individual cases including assessments, treatment plans, treatment reviews and reports, discharge summaries, progress notes and other documentation.

Intake: Depending on learning needs and program's admissions process, intern may participate in all phases of intake process.

Field work: Per learning needs intern will provide services to clients in the community (at school, home, or other locations).

Process Recordings: Intern is expected to complete at least one process recording monthly.

Supervision: Intern is expected to participate in one hour of weekly supervision with direct supervisor, to participate in weekly group supervisions, to participate in meetings as scheduled with other program staff, and to attend scheduled trainings.

Position Requirements

Must be enrolled in an accredited master’s program in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, social welfare, social work or equivalent. Or must have completed a Master’s program and be registered as an intern with the BBS.

Must be able to commit to 16-24 hours weekly for a period of no less than four months.

Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, supervisors, and clients.

Experience working with current or former foster youth or SED youth strongly preferred, particularly for positions involving work in the field.
