This position will provide direct assistance in genotyping and plant biotechnology projects. The job requires a highly self-motivated individual, who is detail-orientated and possesses the ability to perform a number of experiments with a high degree of accuracy. Must be able to multi-task, take direction well and work in fast-paced work environment. Specific training is provided.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plant tissue/Seed sample prep for DNA extraction following standardized procedures.
· Coordinating and performing sample prep for PCR analysis.
· Maintaining laboratory supplies, chemical inventory and preparing stock solutions for every day lab use.
· Cleaning and maintaining general instruments, glassware, and other equipment needed for analysis.
· Keeping the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition and detailed oriented.
· Receiving and preparing plant tissue/seed samples, maintaining inventory and storing laboratory supplies.
EDUCATION
B.S. degree in Agricultural Sciences, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or related field preferred.
