Hahn Estate, located in Soledad, CA, is seeking an ambitious and dynamic full-time Wine Club Associate to join our Estate team in Soledad. Hahn Estate is part of Hahn Family Wines, a family-owned wine company. Our Estate is located in Monterey County's Santa Lucia Highlands; one of California's premier and most highly sought-after appellations. Our beautiful property is located amidst the vineyards with a spectacular view of the Salinas Valley and the Pinnacles National Park.

The Wine Club Associate position will assist the Wine Club Manager in driving the growth of the wine club for Hahn Family Wines. The scope of this position includes selling our limited production wines to our member base over the phone and in person, enter and audit club applications, and ensure completion of orders through our POS system. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a consistent, timely and professional manner with all members and timely resolution of membership issues. Primary responsibility is to build and foster relationships with our wine club members and generate wine sales opportunities. In addition, this individual will assist the Wine Club Manager to execute all wine club shipments from order to fulfillment and develop programs to build wine club loyalty and minimize attrition. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and proven customer service skills. The ideal candidate would also have creative problem-solving skills, be highly energetic, well organized, and able to initiate and follow through on a variety of projects.

Core Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional, personal, customer service to club members and winery guests. Create lasting member and guest relationships and experiences

Initiate communications to new wine club members by phone, email, mail, or in person, to welcome and establish a relationship

Host private tasting experiences for club members as needed

Work with Tasting Room staff in selling wine and wine club to guests on property, primarily with their designated client base

Respond to all inbound consumer phone calls and email with the highest level of customer service

Answer wine club member questions about wines, events and tasting room experiences

Work with consumers, as well as Wine Club Manager, Hospitality Team and Tasting Room staff, to address general business inquires, consumer concerns, wine purchases, address corrections, inventory returns, replacement orders and refunds

Maintain consumer database including data entry of new customer information, customer updates, and database clean-up

Maintain standard operating procedures on all consumer inquiries to insure consistent, timely and quality service

Assist with development and implementation of programs to grow Wine Club membership and manage attrition rate

Assist Wine Club Manager with execution of club shipment and pick-up allocations

Ensure legal compliance regulations are followed

Monitor vintage change calendar to keep DTC inventories aligned

Assist Wine Club Manager with campaigns, communications, club e newsletters, reports, Wine club members and guests as needed

Provides administrative support for Wine Club Manager for tele sales campaigns, e-mail correspondence for wine club

Creates customer call lists for telemarketing e.g.: sales, declines, cancelations, holds, updates and all aspects of club processing; makes outbound calls correlating to lists.

Assists Wine Club Manager with executing Wine Club events and wine release celebrations

Competencies and Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in customer service and/or retail sales

At least 1 year of experience in wine retail and/or club department (or equivalent) desired; exceptional, similar experience from outside the wine business may be considered

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and WineDirect (POS) a plus

Excellent attention to detail and flawless customer follow-up

Ability to convert wine enthusiast to club loyalist

Ability to adapt and excel in a changing environment

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Self-starter, clear communicator, positive team player, multi-tasker & highly organized

Effective sales skills with professional, positive and flexible attitude

Flexible and available to work Fridays, Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays

Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Ability to speak confidently and accurately in front of groups of people

Ability to prioritize when handling multiple tasks

Good sense of humor

Bilingual (Spanish/English), a plus

Must be 21 years of age with ability to taste wine and food

Valid driver's license with ability to drive and operate company vehicles/ATVs

Ability to become and maintain status as a Company Authorized Driver

Ability to travel to and work from Hahn Carmel as needed

Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. repetitively

Must have close vision, distant vision, and ability to adjust focus, peripheral and color vision

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Must frequently lift and/or repetitively carry and move, push and/or pull up to 40 pounds to stack wine cases and frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard, calculator and other office/IT equipment.

Working Environment

Employee must be able to work in various weather conditions and non-traditional business hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and occasionally, working near moving vehicles and winery equipment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
