Open Position: Medical Support Manager

We are currently seeking a dynamic, energetic, team player to join our team as Medical Support Manager. This position is a full time/exempt position and reports to the Medical Director. The Medical Support Manager supervises all nursing staff regarding the clinical services for patients at Southern Trinity Health Services. This position requires both administrative skills as well as nursing skills. We are a FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) with two locations Mad River, CA and Scotia CA. Education, Qualifications, and Credentials

Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills. Must have 2 plus years verifiable clinical leadership skills. High level of computer literacy proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) electronic medical records. Have strong organizational skills and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities. Sensitivity to the needs and situations of a multi-culture population from a variety of income levels.

Essential Job Functions

1. Develops, maintains and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Act as a role model by, verbally and behaviorally demonstrating skills, enthusiasm, positive problem solving, commitment and loyalty to the profession and the organization.

2. Monitor and evaluate staff compliance and performance.

3. Serve as a general resource for clinical electronic medical record functionality and workflows.

4. Work closely with providers to enhance staff and EHR functional skills.

5. Screen and prioritize Walk In patients based on acuity of illness, and consult with medical providers when indicated, if non-licensed Medical Staff Manager, appoints a licensed clinical staff to oversee triage.

6. Serves as representation of Nursing at Leadership Team and QI meetings. Demonstrates genuine desire to develop strategies for improved clinic operations and high level patient care.

7. Audits crash cart to ensure they are stocked, locked, medications are not expired. Ensures that all on-site medications, including VFC vaccines are labeled and properly stored and properly documented for compliance.

8. Interacting with providers, patients and family members.

9. Covers as appropriate during staff vacancies, vacation, etc.

10. Responsible for compliance requirements such as QA log, refrigerator/freezer temperature logs, eye wash station log, reportable disease log etc. Monitor all clinical logs for accuracy.

11. Acts as a liaison between departments regarding administrative business and or clinical functions as applicable.

12. Maintains supply inventory and orders supplies with leadership approval.

13. Monitor patient flow and assign/direct additional personnel as needed.

14. Performs all other related projects and duties assigned by the Medical Director.
