SummaryAbout the Position: This position is located at Sierra Army Depot. With the exception of Fire and Police, employees work a 4 day-10 hour work week, Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sierra Army Depot is located in the rural northeast California town of Herlong, California. This is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, Nevada; and 35 miles south of Susanville, California. Child care facilities are available. A small AAFES Express is on site; Commissary facilities are NOT available.ResponsibilitiesSupervises a team of General Schedule Specialists.Evaluates operations supervised in terms of mission accomplishment.Oversees the Depot's Continuous Process Improvement ProgramsOversees the Depot?s ERP programs.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsWho May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To qualify at the GS-12 level you must have one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as: Utilizing SAP software to administer a full range of consultant services; Managing a Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) program; Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates; Directing team members in the analysis and resolution of issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).EducationSome federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.Additional InformationMale applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
