Choices Person Centered Services (CPCS), a Northern CA non-profit organization founded in 1988, provides programs and services to adults with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to assist adults with disabilities to become active participants in their communities. Our programs are designed to foster independence, personal development and self-sufficiency. We strive to educate the community at large to value diversity and to help create a positive environment for the people we serve in their development processes.
We are currently seeking dynamic, high energy individuals to join our Independent Living Services (ILS) Program as an Instructors. This is a unique full-time opportunity for just the right candidates with flexibility to make your own schedule with a case load in the Placerville area.
Hiring Programs:
1) Placerville area - full-time
2) Sacramento area - full time
3) Truckee area - part-time
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructor activities may include individual goal attainment, ability to teach persons served home management skills such as housekeeping, cooking, shopping and life skills such as math, reading and money management. You will also take an active role in healthcare management by attending medical appointments, prescription refills, etc. This is a full-time position opening with an average schedule of 40 hours per week. As an Independent Living Services Instructor, you will make your own weekly schedule based on the scheduling needs of the people we serve on your caseload.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
1) High School Diploma
2) Prefer one year of related experience in working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or as an Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor
3) MUST POSSESS A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE, HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE WITH FULL-TIME ACCESS AND SHOW PROOF OF CURRENT SUFFICIENT LIABILITY INSURANCE
4) Must have a clean DMV Record
5) Must be able to pass a DOJ/FBI background check
6) First-aid and CPR certifications must be valid for at least one year from hire date. If not certified, must be willing to obtain within two weeks of hire date
7) Excellent writing and communication skills
