With our national brand recognition, long-standing reputation since 1902, and constantly growing membership, we are seeking career-minded, service-driven professionals to join our team.ACE is looking for an experienced Data Governance Manager professional to lead the execution of the Data Governance function. This person will use ACE Data Governance methodology and approach to establish the Data Governance Program at ACE for all ACE data domains, ensure adherence to Data Governance policies and standards and advancement and maturation of ACE Data Governance Practices and skills, while serving as a Data Governance advisor to the organization.Responsibilities include:
Ensure alignment to the ACE Enterprise Data Strategy
Manage the Data Governance roadmap and tactical plan, and ensure constant alignment with executive priorities for organizational change and transformation
Overall advisory of data governance process, policies and standards
Provide Data Governance Subject Matter Expertise and perspective on best practices
Manage expectations, partnerships and relationships, establish credibility at all levels within the organization
Establish, communicate and help enforce policies, standards and processes for managing data to ensure Data Governance objectives are met
Manage change control for data processes, standards, definitions, derivations, etc.
Lead the Data Governance Office resources
Manage day to day Data Governance activities
Liaise with respective Product Owners
Ensure that the Data Governance Office operates as a Change Management organization, manages communication plans, with effective channels and tactics
Integrate with Product Teams to advance Data Governance capabilities in data products
Ensure that features consider and allow for Data Governance capabilities
Advise Product Teams on Data Governance capabilities and how they affect features
Ensure executives directives are understood by the Data Governance Council
Assess risk for compliance-related data
Coordinate and provide artifacts for internal or external audits on data governance capabilities and compliance alignment
Monitor and measure the effectiveness of the Data Governance Program and report KPIs to the Executive Steering Committee and stakeholders
Set agenda and facilitate the Data Governance Council meetings
Build consensus and resolve conflicts with Data Governance stakeholders
Continue to advance and mature Data Governance capabilities
Communicate Data Governance direction and demonstrate Data Governance depth in discussions with the Data Governance Council and Product teams
Educate, coach, guide and advise the Data Governance Council and Product Teams on Data Governance best practices and prioritization and management of the Data Governance tactical plan
Provide tools and technology perspective, including people and process impact
Ensure that business and technical metadata is complete, maintained and available
Enforce adoption of metadata standards, through process, and communication
Skills:
Strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations in regulated industries preferred (e.g. familiarity with CCPA)
Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends
Experience in developing and implementing data governance policies, processes and standards
Experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality, and Master Data Management
Strong understanding of Data Governance capabilities and best practices including:
Data management
Metadata management
Data quality
Governance structures and frameworks
Enterprise Information Management and data management principles
Knowledge and application of fundamental concepts related to an enterprise data catalog and business data lineage for common business vocabulary for data elements
Experience with industry leading data governance, metadata and data quality tools (e.g. Collibra, MetaCenter, Informatica IDQ, etc.)
Hands-on experience with data related activities (data cleansing, data transformation, data profiling, data standards, data structures, data preparation and analysis, data aggregation, and data rules requirements gathering)
Experience documenting data flows, processes, and creating well-structured project presentations and deliverables
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with multiple and sometimes conflicting personal agendas
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to tailor messages to different levels of the business and interact with all levels and functions within an organization
Ability to navigate and work effectively in a dynamic environment, maintaining strong relationships across functional teams
Technical Requirements :
Strong SQL and relational database/data warehouse (SQL Server, Oracle) skills
Familiarity with database management systems, data structures and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
Familiarity with system administrative and development concepts and practices
Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools and capabilities including investigation and understanding of where the data is sourced, how it is manipulated, and presented to a business audience
Minimum10-15 years of systems, analysis, consulting, and/or IT managementexperience
5years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Stewardship,Metadata Management, Data Quality Management or similar
Preferablyhave experience in the Insurance industry
Provenanalytical skills to properly evaluate and interpret cross-functional datastandardization requirements
Education:
BA/BS or MBA Degree in aBusiness/Computer Science/MIS related major or equivalent work experience
Certification(s):·A Agile methodologies such as SCRUM
