Description
Working with the Human Resource Manager, this position administers the activities relating to the company payroll, benefits and onboarding processing.
Onboard all new hires, keeping in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations
Maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to policy including with federal/state/local regulations.
Ensure Form I-9/E-Verify compliance by conducting audits of new hires; follow up on soon to be expired documents.
Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll; review and ensure accuracy of approved timecards
Evaluate and audit PTO accruals; work with managers to ensure accuracy of employee balances
Oversee FMLA/CFRA and other employee leave administration. Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulation.
Provide payroll and benefits information by answering questions and requests
Serve a primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce cost and increase efficiency. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reports and fees.
Planning, organizing and directing open enrollment for company benefits
Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans and compliance testing.
Prepare annual benefit reporting in accordance with government regulations.
Reconcile benefit bills against employee deduction to ensure accuracy
Provide oversight of 401(k) administration, including employee plan distributions and other related plan administration activity
Monitoring and reviewing agreements with all plan providers
Provide customer service support to internal and external customers
Conduct monthly benefit orientations. Distribute communication tools to enhance understanding of the companys benefit package
Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll and benefits operation by keeping information confidential
Assist in the development and maintenance of computer programs pertaining to employee benefits
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to read and understand company policies and procedures and implement appropriately.
Assist in problem solving and in making this a more effective organization.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to read and write the English language.
Manage details of multiple projects in an efficient and organized method.
Produce work in a timely, budgeted, scheduled and profitable manner for the company.
Must apply human safety procedures and principles daily and protect self and others from injury.
Communicate a positive image of the company to fellow staff members, customers, and the general public.

Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in business related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years of payroll and benefits administration
Ability to work varying hours, some weekends, and varying schedule
Valid California Drivers License
