HDR is looking for a Sr. Transportation Engineer / Section Manager who will be responsible for leading the local office on the I-30 Project and lead the growth of HDR's Transportation Business Practice in Arkansas from the HDR Little Rock Office.
Responsibilities will include oversight of engineering services on all projects from the local office.
Responsibilities may also include operations of transportation services, staff development, growth and profitability, quality control, marketing support, business development and fostering good overall team morale of the transportation practice in Arkansas.
Initial duties will include working with the project manager of the $540M, I-30 Project to help deliver the project successfully with the focus on design services during construction.
The position will also function as a senior project manager on transportation projects.
The position will work cooperatively with Regional Directors in local and regional marketing and production efforts and be involved in strategic planning, marketing proposals, and interviews and will also be directly involved with public- and private-sector clients in marketing, project production, and related issues for Arkansas.
As the local transportation lead, the position will also see that all work is planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through a pro-active project management system while continuously implementing, monitoring, and supporting company policy.
Additional duties will include selecting, training, developing and managing technical personnel. Experience in the management and development of multi-discipline teams will be required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
5+ years design experience related to the transportation industry (e.g., roadway / highway, bridge / structures) design and construction is required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, InRoads, MicroStation and GEOPAK, or other design software as appropriate
Strong knowledge and experience managing projects and professional services for ARDOT and municipalities in Arkansas.
Ability to develop strong client relationships and serve as a key client manager.
Past participation in related professional and business organizations.
Strong communication skills is a must.
Ability to handle multiple assignments is required.
Good leadership and organizational skills are essential to this role.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
