Overview

The Project Manager - Intermediate at the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI) is responsible for coordinating project plan development and management alongside the various project leaders and ensures quality control throughout project life cycles for ACHI’s data operational projects and ad hoc data, policy, and research projects.

The Project Manager Intermediate reports directly to ACHI’s Executive Director.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Executive Director and ACHI Leadership team to align projects within overall strategic plan and priorities of the Center.

Coordinate with product owners and project leaders to facilitate project development from initiation to closure.

Facilitate project meetings and discussions to provide open forum for teams and subject-matter experts to exchange information contributing to effective solution development.

Be accountable for project results along with project leaders.

Work with project leaders and teams to complete project plans that outline scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, timeframes, etc.

Work with project leaders to develop a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed, establish effective scheduled meetings to review project progress, inform project leader of stakeholder expectations on project progress.

Work with project leaders, directors, and others to resolve any issues and solve problems throughout project life cycles, elevating unresolvable issues to the Executive Director in a timely manner.

Assist project leaders in effectively managing project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved following established processes.

Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to project leaders, directors, and Executive Director on a monthly or as-needed basis.

Develop, improve, and institutionalize tools and best practices for project management and execution.

Ensure all project documents are safely archived following ACHI protocols at all points in the project.

Work with project leaders to complete post-project evaluations, and lead a team / ACHI discussion upon completion.

Business process analysis, including documentation of business requirements.

Develop test procedures, test plans, and test cases for deliverables.

Help design, document, and maintain processes.

Work closely with ACHI Executive Director and the Fiscal Manager to ensure proper allocation of human resources to the project contract(s).

Review project contract documentation to ensure deliverables are accomplished and easily understood within an ACHI-specified format.

Provide special assistance as requested on projects, tasks, reports, etc.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field plus six (6) years of non-overlapping professional project management experience required.

Other job-related education and / or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Proven writing, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications :

One (1) year of project management of research or analytic-based projects.

One (1) year of agile project management experience.

PMP Certification (or completion of PMP certification within one year of employment).

Experience with JIRA ticketing system or equivalent software.

Experience with Microsoft Project or other project management software.
