Position Duties/Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Supervise the implementation of various Project ES&H Execution Plans at a Compressor Station located in Blythe, CA.
Monitors work practices on the project or facility. Confers with supervisors on ES&H matters to ensure that work plan procedures are in conformance with customer and governmental requirements.
Stops work in imminent danger situations or conditions having imminent adverse safety and environmental impact. Recommends corrective action, and advises line supervisors and responsible management of actions to be taken. Initiates corrective action tracking and follows-up to ensure actions are implemented.
Monitors work practices utilized by client and contractors to ascertain compliance with the Project ES&H Execution Plan, client procedures, and applicable government regulations. Recommends acceptable work practices and ensures their implementation.
Monitors and evaluates the Environmental, Safety, and Health programs on projects or facilities. Analyzes occupational safety and health hazards and develops methods of control. Conducts ES&H training programs for project personnel. Conducts occupational health surveys to monitor compliance with the standards.
Participates with supervisors/managers in departmental personnel planning and development.
Remains cognizant of federal, state, local, or host country environmental, safety, and health regulations. Disseminates information on new/revised regulations to supervisors and employees through verbal and written communications and through revisions to the Project ES&H Execution Plan.
Conducts accident investigations, documents causative factors and prepares reports.
Conducts project-specific safety and environmental awareness training as outlined in the Project ES&H Execution Plan.
Executes other ES&H duties as assigned by management.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Extensive knowledge of governmental ES&H standards, rules and regulations and proficiency in applying them to projects or facilities.
Working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations, OSHA, DOT compliance, insurance audits, workers compensation, and project health surveys.
Proficiency in conducting ES&H training programs.
Technical knowledge of fire safety equipment and systems applicable to projects and facilities.
Technical knowledge of and experience in the industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance functions applicable to projects and facilities
Knowledge of medical first aid procedures.
BASIC QUALIFICAITONS:
Fifteen (15) years of progressive ES&H Experience and previous compressor station ES&H experience preferred.
Intermediate use of Microsoft software applications.
Demonstrates expertise in oral and written communication.
Development and supervising the implementation of Hazard Analysis Systems, and/or Project Worker Safety and Health Plan.
