BISHOP SECURITY has an immediate full time opening for an EXPERIENCED security patrol route driver. POSITION REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF ONE (1) FULL YEAR OF EXPERIENCE AS A SECURITY PATROL DRIVER (DRIVING A MULTI STOP PATROL ROUTE), OR AS A POLICE OFFICER.

MUST ALREADY HAVE A CURRENT ARIZONA DPS GUARD LICENSE (unarmed or armed)

Must have a current AZ driver's license with clean motor vehicle record, clean criminal record, steady local (Tucson) work references in the security or police career fields.

Drive a security patrol route using a company patrol car, making numerous patrol stops per shift at a variety of different types of properties throughout metro Tucson. Handle a wide range of security related issues including dealing with trespassers, handling noise complaints, writing reports, etc. Drive in excess of 75 miles per night.

Full time 40+ hours per week, five consecutive nights per week and includes working weekends and holidays. Occasional overtime (over 40 hours/week paid at time and 1/2 - $20.25/hr).

We try to provide as steady and consistent a work schedule as possible.

Night-time only - duty hours are approximately 9:00pm - 5:15am (sometimes slightly later).

Starting salary: $13.50 per hour. Overtime (time and 1/2, which is $20.25 per hour) for over 40 hours per week and on 8 major holidays. Cash perks, merit raises, take-home patrol car if qualified.

Uniforms (including coat) and 2-way radio provided for free (no fees for using the uniforms).

New employees receive 32 - 40 hours of paid training riding with a supervisor to learn about each property in their patrol district and to learn how our company operates.

Take-home patrol car if qualified - To be eligible for a take-home vehicle, employee must live within our current patrol area where we have clients, and rent (must be named on a lease) or own your residence, and have a safe place to park the car (not on any streets or in any restricted areas), and must be parked where Company supervisors have immediate, unrestricted access to the vehicle (not in fenced areas, garages or on D/M Air Force Base, etc.). Company pays for all vehicle expenses (fuel, repairs, oil changes, tires, etc.). You start your patrol route from your home, and go directly home after your shift - no personal time is spent driving to and from an office to pick up and drop off your patrol vehicle.

Here is a partial list of job requirements:

Must be impeccably honest and be able to perform with minimal direct supervision once trained.

We prefer a High School diploma or GED - or higher, but not mandatory.

Current, local (Tucson) references documenting work experience and good work ethics, including not having a history of "dumping" on past employers without giving proper notice of resignation.

Must have thorough knowledge of the Tucson metro area's main streets without using GPS.

Professional demeanor and appearance - we have specific standards pertaining to facial hair, tattoos and hair length

No illegal drug use or marijuana use of any kind (no "medical marijuana") while employed at Bishop Security. Periodic random drug testing. REMEMBER - any marijuana usage of any kind makes you a prohibited possessor of firearms, making you no longer eligible to work as an armed guard in Arizona.

Must be able to speak and understand English and be clearly understood on a 2-way radio.

Must be able to write thorough and concise reports with proper language usage and spelling.

Must be physically able to perform all aspects of the job, including, but not limited to: driving at night, driving/riding in a car without getting car sick, walking, some stair climbing, getting in and out of a patrol car numerous times per night, refueling a patrol car (self service), changing a flat tire without assistance, staying awake throughout the shift, writing reports.

Bishop Security is a 29 year old, veteran and family owned, local Tucson business that was formed in 1991 and specializes exclusively in performing night-time mobile patrols. 100% of our employees drive patrol cars from site to site, making numerous patrol stops each night within their assigned patrol district. The two owners have over 75 years of combined related experience. Mr. Bishop is a former police officer and police supervisor, and is a pilot and owns an airplane - interested employees can fly along as the ground observer and/or photographer during special projects or can fly just for fun.
