A Day In The Life Of An Experienced Software Developer (AWS Cloud Developer) - req13402

Our Enterprise Technology Department is seeking an Experienced Software Developer to work on our Public Cloud Adoption Team (PCAT). Public Cloud adoption continues to expand and mature at State Farm and we are looking for a software developer to join the automation and support function of the team. Automation is key to the consistent and timely enablement of business solution's ability to leverage Public Cloud. The team is looking for a creative and passionate developer to further its mission to make the AWS experience as frictionless as possible. If you have interest in getting hands-on with the latest cloud technologies and enabling a next generation platform for State Farm, this is the position for you!

A developer within PCAT should expect a variety of daily experiences from working with teammates to develop automation solutions to engaging with PCAT consumers helping them with their AWS journey. Expect to get involved in researching, designing, and developing automation for the various AWS services that PCAT is responsible for. Developing patterns and guidance to help PCAT consumers understand how to develop similar automation solutions. Engaging with other infrastructure and platform teams to help ensure AWS integrates well in a hybrid cloud architecture.

Office Location (Tempe, AZ) where we work hard AND play hard!

Our Marina Heights Campus is conveniently located on Tempe Town Lake with close proximity to Transit & Downtown Tempe.

We Are Looking for Candidates With
  • Proficient in at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, Python, GoLang, etc)
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services along with at least one AWS certification preferred
  • Proficient with using Git and executing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with using test automation to ensure quality built software
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills
Additional Skills
  • Development experience including the use of infrastructure automation tooling (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, etc) to streamline maintenance and provisioning
  • Exposure and understanding of DevOps principles
  • General understanding of public cloud architectures and technologies
  • Ability to conduct research focused on public cloud services, operations, migration and integration techniques
  • Technology infrastructure knowledge and background
  • Technology infrastructure or application security experience
