POSITION SUMMARY:The Irrigation Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of commercial and residential irrigation services including estimating, scheduling, installation, customer service, troubleshooting irrigation systems, training, and billing. The Irrigation Supervisor will plan, manage, and direct production and maintenance operations in order to meet budget, safety, and target timeline objectives. This position will regularly interface with clients and suppliers, directly oversee multiple Irrigation Technicians, and will report to the Branch Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the operation of all client irrigation systems, including regular visits, repairs, and seasonal start-ups or protective services.

Accountable for proactively serving the needs of customers through the assessment and proposal of irrigation upgrades and/or the use of other beneficial technology.

Identifies system problems and acts as a subject matter expert to develop solutions and a plan for execution.

Performs industry standard irrigation audits for any type of irrigation system and provides detailed irrigation site assessments.

Responsible for all reporting requirements as requested.

Directs, organizes, and oversees Irrigation Technicians assure quality and timely completion of all tasks assigned within safety standards.

Assists and guides crew in diagnosing and troubleshooting irrigation-related problems.

Supervises and trains Irrigation Technicians on proper equipment operation and industry-related updates and guides the overall development of their skill in the field.

Ensures crews are sensitive and respectful of company equipment and customer’s property at all times.

Responsible for motivating and managing crew to perform tasks within the allotted budgeted hours.

Assists in the creation of a culture of safety and environmental protection by performing work safely and in accordance with company safety procedures.

Deliver on the following KPI’s:

Crews working safely and efficiently in accordance with the Company standard.

Irrigation goals established for the branch are met.

Quality jobs completed on time within the budgeted hours.

Crew leaders working at a high level with an emphasis on accountability.

Clients are satisfied with the outcome of projects.

Client Management and other support teams are communicated clearly and regularly.

Equipment is maintained at appropriate intervals and kept in good working order.

Critical field best practices are understood by all team members and followed on a consistent basis.

Employees are being developed in accordance with the appropriate HR processes.

Viewed as a motivated, thoughtful, willing, positive team member by others.

Teams demonstrate adherence to company policy on the proper use and care of equipment.

Safety inspections 100% complete and 90% pass rate or better.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS?

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 3 years of irrigation work experience, with experience directing/leading crew members with diversified backgrounds.

Power Limited License preferred.

Experience in servicing large commercial irrigation systems required.

Must be able to operate or use trenching and boring equipment and shovel to prepare trenches.

Must have knowledge of PVC installation and techniques.

Must be able to establish and maintain successful working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and clients through effective communication, positive attitude, patience, and good follow-through skills.

Displays honesty and respect when working with coworkers, contractors, and customers.

Acts as a positive example for technicians and contractors especially in regards to promptness, language, and dress.

Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information, and perform basic math calculations.

Must have a valid driver’s license, and must have transportation to and from the show-up location.

Bilingual capability (Spanish) is preferred but not required.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Works around hazardous equipment with moving mechanical parts.

Works outside in all weather conditions, including cold, heat, temperature swings.

Works around excessive noise from machines, requiring hearing protection.

Works in corridors with uneven terrain.

May be exposed to nature, i.e. irritating plants and biting or stinging insects.

May be exposed to fumes/odors, dust/mites, chemical, and/or waste hazards.

May be exposed to dogs and other animals.

Work may be performed at varying heights above the ground.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability and endurance to perform tasks for at least 8-hour periods.

Must understand and demonstrate proper safety procedures, abiding by all OSHA regulations, with the ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.

Must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.

Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.

Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.

Rarely: Climbing poles, color vision.Occasionally: Sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, balancing, lifting up to 50lbs.Frequently: Stooping, squatting, sense of touch, climbing on/off truck, gripping, reaching, range of motion, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, lifting over 10lbs to 50lbs.Continuously: Standing, walking, body twisting, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, reading, hearing – speech range, lifting up to 10lbs.Rarely = less than 10%Occasionally = up to 33%Frequently = up to 66%Continuously = 67% to 100%
