Republic is also the only company in our industry that is a certified Great Place to Work.POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to an Operations Supervisor or Manager, the Level 2 Sorter is responsible for overseeing and performing various tasks/job duties related to the operations support and coordination throughout the recycling center, including but not limited to, inventory control, quality control and safety compliance.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from incoming waste, or remove non-recyclable materials.

Deposit recoverable material safely and efficiently into appropriate chute.

Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items.

Communicate with equipment operators regarding incoming loads of special waste or other loads that require special attention.

Increase production of the sort line by minimizing down time and providing training to sorters on the line.

Ensure compliance with all safety rules regarding the sort line; including stopping the conveyor belt in emergency situations.

Inspect and remove jams on the sort line.

Clean the automated sorting equipment on a daily basis, including screens, belly pans, and under the system, in addition to other light maintenance duties.

Maintain cleanliness of facility during shift and perform end of shift cleaning

Assist Maintenance Technicians during system repairs, as assigned.

Distinguish different types of recyclables (e.g., various types of plastic-PETE, HDPE; glass by color; aluminum from tin or bi-metal; paper-5 to 6 grads).

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:Trained in Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

Minimum of 6 months related experience in a recycling center.
