The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.This Operational Risk Business Oversight Officer is responsible for the independent oversight of front line operational risk management effectiveness of the Chief Operating Office oversight function . This individual contributor is recognized as an industry or subject matter expert in operational risk. The role is expected to engage with senior business and risk leaders within the business to influence and challenge risk management activities and decisions. Operational risk is the risk resulting from inadequate or failed internal controls and processes, people and systems, or resulting from external events. Operational risk is inherent in all Wells Fargo products and services as it often arises in the presence of other risk types.This role is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring risk-based programs to identify, assess, and mitigate any operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency. This role will support the Operational Risk Business Oversight Leader in the new Chief Operating Office (COO) oversight function with all matters pertaining to operational risk and is considered a thought leader and subject matter expert for operational risk activities across this business grouping. In this capacity, this role reviews and challenges significant front line operational risk program execution, including, but not limited to, external fraud, information risk management, safety and physical security, transaction processing and execution, third-party risk management and various risk assessment policies and programs. This role will also develop detailed understanding of business strategy, the customer base, products and services and other relevant industry issues, frameworks and emerging risks.The role will support the Enterprise Customer Excellence Business with a focus on the required deliverables as part of the Financial Regulatory Board (FRB) Consent Order. The scope of work includes action plan review, completion, validation, evidence, and sustainability related to customer remediations, complaints, issues management, and conduct risk. Many of these are newer program requirements that are being stood-up as part of the Chief Operating Office.Preferred locations for this position are Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Des Moines, IA; New York, NY; Phoenix, AZ; Saint Louis, MO; Dallas, TX.Relocation assistance is not available for this position.Required Qualifications:7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Desired Qualifications:Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to represent the company/business units to internal and external auditors, RECOR, OCC, or other regulatory agencies

Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions, and drive for resolutions

Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas

Ability to influence and collaborate at all internal organizational levels

Ability to identify and evaluate exposures and potential risks

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
