Investment Company looking to hire a Construction Industry GM for the acquisition (Aug.-Dec.) of Housing/Road and Municipal Construction companies. Company location may be in any of the following states: CA, CO, AZ, NV, WA, OR, UT, TX. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable running all day-to-day operations, business development, customer relationships, financial metrics, personnel mgt. and all tactical aspects of the business and should possess the following:

-Analytical Skills: Must be good at planning for large-scale, multi-step projects.

-Adaptable: Able to develop workarounds for delays and other problems

-Decision Making: Must be comfortable managing strategic decisions such as picking long term subcontractors, vendors, parts, tools, personnel and more.

-Management Skills: Code Compliance, Licensure, Project mgt., Sub-Contractors, Material Procurement, Inventory Controls and Construction Client Satisfaction.

-Communication: Good writing and speaking skills are needed for communicating with employees, high level clients and subcontractors, and must be comfortable with remote/virtual communication with ownership.

-Technical Skills: Must be an expert in construction methodologies, read blueprints and understand other technical aspects of construction. Construction site and/or management experience is required.

-Business Acumen: Must understand business operational practices, P&L, margins, and job costing to insure budget adherence.

-Goal Oriented: Plan for and implement group goals to successfully achieve business growth & revenue targets.

Education/Experience Required:

· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent civ/mil experience required.

· Proven experience in construction management, managing multiple crews across geographies

· Proficient with technology to improve & streamline processes (e.g. Microsoft Office, project management, etc).

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Project management experience and skill set required.

· Organized, flexible disposition.

· Attention to detail.

· Ability to influence change.

Our company is involved in acquiring and growing small construction businesses ($1M-$5M) with strong assets to acquire and then grow. You may be involved in future decisions regarding follow-on acquisitions and will have many opportunities to expand both GM responsibilities and ownership options.
