General Contractor is looking for a Project Engineer to work with closely with the owner. This individual must have an interest in pursuing a career in construction management. This position focuses on the development of core-project management skills. Daily interaction with project managers, superintendents will provide a unique opportunity to wear several hats during the construction project. You will assist in processing and distributing construction documents. Including updating project drawings and specifications, managing requests for information, pay applications, submittals and close-out documents. Responsibilities:
- Develop pre-construction RFP packages
- Assist bidding trades
- Assist in creating and managing project budgets
- Establish job processes (RFI's, submittals and pay applications)
- Ensure that required project documentation is submitted in accordance with the project schedule
- Assist in conducting project meetings, setting milestones and establishing overall project logistics
- Track and coordinate equipment deliveries
- Review trade submittals
- Assist in coordinating and tracking critical path construction activities
- Manage commissioning documents
- Assist in managing the close-out process.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor or experience in MPE system construction. (Residential Experience Not Qualified)
- Ability to master sector/project specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Etc.
- Passion for construction and our industry; ability to recognize and seek quality
- Willingness to travel
