The primary purpose of this position is to support the Gas Transmission Technical Services Construction Manager. The Construction Project Specialist will spend approximately 80% of the time in the office and 20% in the field and on the jobsites. Office duties will be scheduling contract inspectors as needed, track calibrated tools and due dates, provide inspectors with updated FCD’s as needed, update the Active Projects Spreadsheet with CM support, delegated rights to help with expense reports (Reimbursements, FB Card). Works in conjunction with the project staff, the project specialist assists with the implementation of programs and processes. Duties include planning, developing, implementing and evaluating projects documentation, coordinating project activities, collaborating with project construction team members, developing measurable project goals and objectives, and monitoring progress toward achievement. Field duties would be jobsite support when CM is handling multiple projects, delivering inspection tools or checking on materials in support of the CM.

Requirements

Project specialists prepare agendas for meetings with the assistance of the Construction Management team.

Document key decisions and collaborate with team members to develop project collateral.

Accurately review all traceable, verifiable and construction documentation.

Assist the Construction Management team with the Active project list on a weekly basis.

Deliver engaging, informative and well-organized presentations, provide status reports and progress updates as needed and communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully.

Assist the Construction Management team with deliverables to projects sites, from project sites to the office.

Provides support in areas of budget, cost tracking, and labor hours, tracking procurement of goods and services, validation and reconciliation of invoices and payments.

May attend bid job walks and field safety meetings.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years or equivalent experience and training

Proficient in data collection, with statistical and analytical skills.

Must have good writing skills, and the ability to follow established standards.

Must be willing to travel

Strong computer skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including access

Knowledge of SAP is desirable

Must have the ability to balance multiple priorities.
