Quintus, Inc. is a contract manufacturer with a proven history in the design, prototype and production of composite products for a variety of applications and industries. Quintus is searching for a Purchasing Agent/Accountant to join our team in Camp Verde, Arizona.

Summary Description

The Purchasing Agent/Accountant will place orders for raw materials and essential production materials from requisitions, buyer and workbench suggestions. The qualified candidate will work closely with the Shipping/Receiving clerk to ensure materials are in place for optimal production. He/she will also perform a variety of accounting duties including payroll, customer invoicing and benefits administration. He/she will work closely with and share responsibilities with the accounting team to ensure the administrative office is running smoothly.

Duties/Responsibilities

1. Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, obtaining the best possible price and service guarantee.

2. Obtain a thorough understanding of our manufacturing policies and procedures.

3. Ensures items ordered arrive on time to facilitate the production process.

4. Purchase items for production, office supplies and other supplies paying special attention to long lead time items and materials with expiration dates.

5. Assists Accounts Payable in correcting discrepancies between purchase order and accounts invoice.

6. Serves as backup to Material Control Assistant/Shipping and Receiving Clerk.

7. Perform all payroll functions including processing of paychecks and required reporting.

8. Administer benefit and 401k plans.

9. Process accounts payable disbursements and maintain a/p files.

10. Process customer orders, prepare invoices and mail.

11. Process cash receipts; maintain customer and accounts receivable files.

12. Other administrative duties such as data entry and filing as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

At least 5 years of purchasing experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Associate degree in accounting or equivalent required.

Must be very detail-oriented and demonstrate accuracy in all functions and transactions.

Legible printing of numbers and letters is necessary.

Must be able to communicate well with suppliers and build meaningful business relationships.

Must have strong negotiation skills. Must be self-motivated, perform multi-job functions, and have solid decision making skills.

Must be able to organize and manage inventory according to accounting rules and business needs.
