At NMS, we expect our employees to fulfill that missionin every aspect of their work.SummaryThis position performs avariety of cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, or serving dutiesin a commercial kitchen, storeroom, dining or serving area.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Washes food service area objects by handor with cleaning equipment.
Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc.and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
Cleans, sweep, mop and wipe down allgeneral food service areas and equipment.
Removes garbage from assigned areas,sets up or breaks down tables, etc.
May assist cooks or others as needed andcoordinates one’s own activities with other food service activities andrequirements.
Properly, safely and efficiently preparefood products while following standard food-handling procedures.
Assists with various periodicallyscheduled large cleaning projects.
May maintain a variety of products atcertain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including servicemachines.
May stock storage areas with variousproducts.
Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
Must have High School diploma or GEDequivalent.
Must have Alaska Food Handlers Card orServSafe certification contingent upon 30 days of hire.
Must have prior knowledge of proper foodservice sanitation methods and equipment.
Some prior experience or training whichdemonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment/processes or a suitability for andinterest in this type of work.
Contract requires employees to speak,understand, read and write English.
Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWeather: Indoors:environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.Noise level:ModerateDescription ofenvironment: This is an industrial kitchen located in a health care setting.Physicalrequirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
