Choosing Our Roots is Hiring a Co-Director of Programming on the Kenai Peninsula

This full-time, year-round position provides support and advocacy services to Choosing Our Roots (COR)

participants in a variety of settings via screening, training, education, empowerment-based interventions

(individual and group), and host home programs. The Co-Director of Programming, Kenai Peninsula assists

youth and young adult participants in connecting with host homes, finding solutions, creating and adjusting

goals, and navigating the social and emotional issues related to experiencing homelessness as an LGBTQ+

young person. This position coordinates with, and supports the participant through, intersecting systems that

support youth. This position’s primary role is to engage with youth and young adult participants, while also

serving and responding to requests for help by host families, families of origin, and service providers as

outlined and agreed to by the participant. This position is also tasked with collaborating with the Co-Director

of Statewide Programming, the volunteer collective, and individual communities to launch programming

throughout the Kenai Peninsula.

The Co-Director may reside in any community on the Kenai Peninsula with the understanding that this position includes some travel.
