Job Summary:

The main purpose of the Maintenance Technician is to effectively maintain, troubleshoot and repair all plant processing and ancillary equipment, including truck fleet vehicles while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to your area of responsibility.Job Description:

Knowledge and responsibility for preventive maintenance on all production, ancillary and processing equipment; to include inspecting, cleaning, greasing, troubleshooting, repairing and completing written work reports

Follow preventative maintenance schedule

Change filters, oil, dust collector bags, etc.

Adjust and optimize equipment performance

Assist operators with plugged and jammed equipment

Facilities support to include service of air systems, general facility maintenance, and special projects as assigned

Maintain truck fleet to DOT standards including oil changes, brake adjustments, greasing chassis, mechanical repair, wheel seal and brake replacement, diagnose engine issues and replace broken lights

Maintain trade and technical knowledge

Assist in keeping facilities clean, inside and out

Maintain tool storage, clean and organize shop and warehouse

Notify management when shop supplies need to be replenished

Maintain boiler, assist with repairs

Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company

policies and training sessions

Other duties as assignedRequirements:

Technical

Must have electrical and mechanical background

Commercial truck repair and maintenance experience

Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulics

Experience maintaining and repairing gas and electric forklifts

Minimum of 2 years of experience in operation and maintenance of related equipment

Ability to think critically and troubleshoot issues

Forklift certification or experience preferred

GMP knowledge an asset
