Position: Patient Administrator/Facility Technician (part-time)

Location: Seward, AK

Pay Range: $15/hour+ DOE and excellent benefits

Advanced Physical Therapy is the largest employee-owned practice in Alaska with five well-appointed clinics, and is currently seeking a part-time Patient Administrator/Facility Technician for their Seward clinic.

Advanced Physical Therapy takes a holistic approach when considering compensation packages. Your total compensation includes salary, potential bonuses, continuing education, insurance coverage, and paid time off.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Administrator role:

Asserting & maintaining positive interactions with the community, patients and other staff.

Contacting patients over the phone and in person.

Scheduling patient visits

Reading patient prescriptions, determining the frequency of care and duration noted on current script or progress report. Patient confidentiality is critical, you will be required to adhere to strict privacy rules and HIPAA.

Maintaining Daily Summary of Charges (DSC) in collaboration with Billing staff. Contact insurance companies and case managers to determine eligibility and coverage for care prescribed on current script or progress report.

Checking patients in and out. You will greet patients as they arrive and notify clinicians of their patient arrival. You will also be responsible for collect co-pays and due balances as indicated on DSC, handling card payments, checks, and cash as needed.

Facility Technician role:

Preparing treatment areas to ensure a safe and clean environment

Daily maintenance of all treatment surfaces (mats, chairs, etc.)

Replacing exercise tools and equipment in proper storage areas, keeping everything organized and easy to find

Promptly changing linen if soiled or in contact with skin during patient change-over

Inventory treatment areas to ensure tools and supplies are stocked and maintained

Inventory treatment towers on a bi-monthly basis

Prepare and submit inventory counts and purchase orders to balance standard inventory levels monthly.

Document damages to treatment areas or equipment as it becomes known or as it occurs

Restock supplies and linen

Perform set-up and take-down of treatment modalities (i.e. E-stim, Wii, Cold pack, etc)

Essential Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent required

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Good interactive skills across a range of levels

Scheduling experience

Prior knowledge of precertification protocols and experience in insurance is preferred. 1-2 Years of medical or clinical office administration experience is also preferred.

Self-motivated

Advanced time-management skills and strong attention to detail; strong ability to track and resolve multiple tasks throughout the day
