General duties include solid waste management, groundwater remediation system operation, and support of environmental programs as directed. Duties are performed in the field and in an office setting.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect and sample environmental systems on a daily basis or as directed; monitor and adjust systems as necessary.

Collect environmental data for documentation, calculation and assimilation.

Support environmental compliance programs as directed by Environmental Administrators.

Manage regulated waste streams, including records, manifesting and transportation/shipping.

Monitor specific environmental conditions related to assigned projects to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.

Write maintenance notifications as needed and follow work to completion.

Write Environmental Procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Minimum of High School Diploma or GED Required

Required Experience

3+ Years of Refining or Petrochemical experience

Computer Software Experience

Spreadsheets – data entry

Word processing – procedure review and revision

SAP – create and track work requisitions, purchase requisitions

Preferred Experience:

Post-Secondary education in sciences and/or industrial process technology

Experience handling hazardous materials

Experience utilizing various hand tools in a work setting

Robust organizational and documentation skills

Experience working within EHS compliance programs

Additional Skills:

Knowledge of Equipment and Tools Should be familiar with monitoring equipment, pumps, motors, and controls. Ability to run fork lift. General mechanical aptitude.

Responsibility for Other’s Safety, the technician is responsible for their own safety as well as others around them. Understand Tesoro’s Stop Work Obligation.

Technicians must be able to perform duties as necessary to achieve completion of job assignments related to in-field and other activities. Requires climbing and walking in inclement weather, as well as some heavy lifting
