The Alaska Carpenters Training Trust is accepting applications for the 2021 apprenticeship program for Carpenters, Piledrivers, Millwrights, and Scaffold Erectors. Applications will be accepted until December 31st, 2020, with classes beginning in April and May 2021 (depending on craft).
The apprenticeship programs are 4 years (5,200-7,000 hours) in length. Apprentices must go to school in Anchorage for 160-240 hours each year and receive pay raises every 875-1,300 hours of apprenticeship. There is no fee to apply and the apprenticeship program pays for all tuition and training costs; however, apprentices may have to pay for their books, tools, and travel expenses. Financial assistance may be available for those that qualify.
In order to be officially considered, the following must be submitted. Applications submitted without the following documentation will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered:
Completed application
Copy of high school diploma/GED
High school transcripts
Copy of Alaska driver’s license/State ID
Social security card
In addition to the above documentation, applicants must also be at least 18 years of age and submit to, and pass, a drug and alcohol screening.
