The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 1959
is having an apprenticeship opening now, until 5:00 pm Friday January 3, 2020!
You must be 18+ years of age to enter into the Apprenticeship program ( proof required - birth certificate or passport ), have a high school diploma or GED, a valid unrestricted driver's license, and a Social Security card. We will be accepting applications from 17 year olds at this time as well, but as stated above, the applicant must be at least 18 years of age to enter into the program, current transcripts required in addition to other listed documents for these individuals. The applicant must be physically and mentally capable of performing the work they are applying for without endangering themselves or others, and be capable of passing a substance abuse test if requested.
This announcement is for the purpose of establishing a list of qualified apprenticeship applicants. Local 1959 will not discriminate against apprenticeship applicants or apprentices based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex ( including, pregnancy and gender identity ), sexual orientation, genetic information, or because they are an individual with a disability, or a person 40 years old or older. Local 1959 will take affirmative action to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the apprenticeship program as required under Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 30.

We will be accepting applications ONLY during the period from December 9, 2019
until 5:00 pm January 3, 2020. Interviews will be scheduled after that period.
We CAN NOT accept any applications before December 9, 2019 or after
5:00 pm on January 3, 2020 and we CAN NOT complete any applications
without all the documents mentioned above!

There are different apprenticeship programs available to apply for:
Painting
Starting apprentice wage: $17.97 per hr. + $23.39 per hr. in benefits
Drywall Finishing
Starting apprentice wage: $18.72 per hr. + $23.39 per hr. in benefits
Industrial Painting
Starting apprentice wage: $18.78 per hr. + $23.39 per hr. in benefits
Glazing
Starting apprentice wage: $21.87 per hr. + $25.15 per hr. in benefits
Floor Covering
Starting apprentice wage: $14.38 per hr. + $14.51 per hr. in benefits
