Job Description
Do you have a passion for serving Alaska Native elders, helping them remain independent and age in place? Southeast Senior Services is looking for a Service Coordinator for the Juneau Options for Living Independently (JOLI) program. Support is provided to elders living in Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA) housing to assess their needs, develop a plan of care to maintain their health, safety and independence, and arrange benefits and services as outlined in the care plan. This position is located in Juneau but also includes providing Case Management for seniors in Wrangell.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone who holds a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and who possesses knowledge of the aging process as well as physical and mental impairments, community support resources, and the process to access those services. Additional work experience may be substituted for the required education. The individual should have at least two years of experience working with older persons or persons with disabilities and the ability to advocate, organize, problem solve, and effectively communicate with people who have disabilities. A background check is required.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is full-time, 37.5 hours a week. Starting wage DOE. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, a 403(b) Thrift Savings Plan, paid time off and 12 paid holidays annually.
