JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The On-Call Substitute Caregiver is responsible to become available when called in to work on regularly scheduled days if needed. The on-call caregiver is responsible to plan, organize, implement, coordinate, and control services of the childcare program under instruction, guidance, and supervision of Primary Childcare Administrator, or Child Care Associate while exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority as delegated, policies, and procedures. Under general supervision, the assistant operates the childcare program in conformance with institutional regulations and state day care licensing provisions. Responsibilities include the supervised management of the group-home’s Infant and toddler space (children 4 months to 18 months of age), facilitating, planning and coordinating of the children's daily schedule and activities while following Little Moon Daycare Protocol and instruction per Administrator.
Essential Functions
To be available on-call on scheduled days if needed to for sub-in care.
1. Implement program operating policies and activities as required by supervisor
2. Help ensure that the group-home conforms to federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and licensing requirements within job details.
3. Caring for infants and toddlers in care of Little Moon Daycare following handbook guidelines and State requirements
4. Ensuring the safety of all children in sight
5. Creating daily notes for Administrator review
6. Following cleanliness practices and housekeeping maintenance
7. Keep note of stocked supplies and needs
8. Assist child care group-home staff in preparing for and presenting early childhood programs and activities; direct the organization and follow-up of special activities such as off-campus field trips; assist as necessary with duties of instructional assistants as applicable.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all children enrolled in care within Little Moon Daycare under guidance and supervision.
Work Environment
This job operates in a child care environment. The position will interact with children and parents in the group home main space on a daily basis.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to keep up with the physical demands of the job.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, within the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm. Federal Overtime regulations apply.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma
1. 1-2 years’ experience caring for children of a variety of ages, specifically infants and toddlers.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Must be able to successfully pass child protective services and criminal background check.
2. Must currently obtain or will agree to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid certification prior to start
3. Must complete Child Care Orientation Training within first month of hire.
