POSITION SUMMARY:

The Restore Incorporated Behavioral Rehabilitation Health Treatment Services program includes a variety of treatment and recovery support services for persons with substance use and mental health disorders. The Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator will serve as the primary person to provide intakes for the rehabilitation Center. Make contact with each person inquiring about Behavioral Health services. The person filling this position will ensure each patient will be responded to in a timely and professional manner as well as conduct a thorough intake process that meets quality standards for CARF and State certification. The ideal candidate will also possess strong project management skills, critical thinking ability, sound judgment, and have successful experience in program development and change leadership.

Essential Functions

Receive and process all referrals to program and Behavioral Health Rehabilitation services.

Maintain accurate wait-lists, including numbers for quarterly reports.

Responsible for providing program orientation to patients who participate in behavioral health services utilizing all required forms and ensuring quality of care, in accordance with CARF standards.

Complete initial assessments, the Alaska Screening Tool (AST) , SBIRT screening tool with new all new patients and as needed .

Facilitate integrated co-occurring capable or co- occurring enhanced services.

Facilitate access to pharmacotherapy for the treatment of substance use disorders.

Verification of third-party insurance, Medicaid, Medicare for all scheduled behavioral health prior to enrollment, and monthly thereafter.

Complete the admission, enrollment, and discharge process in electronic health record and AKAIMS for all behavioral health patients.

Data entry of all encounters in AKAIMS, Company’s HER records , ensuring the Behavioral Health Department maintains a 0% error rate.

Provide supportive services to individuals during treatment including patient follow-up calls, scheduling, appointment reminders, coordinate medication needs, etc.

Post accurate weekly schedules on talking rooms each Monday morning.

Provide assistance to Psychiatrists as assigned by the supervisor and/or the department director.

Responsible for coordinating and recording minutes for monthly integrated provider meetings.

Submit Service Authorization Requests for additional units for Medicaid patients.

Maintains current documentation and records of intake services as well as statistical data and reports required by the program and supervisor.

Submit timely monthly reports of services, activities, and other reports required by the supervisor and department director.

Participate in integrated and department staff meetings, and other meetings as requested.

Complete annual trainings, as required by CARF.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques related to mental health, behavioral health and addictions.

Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of individual and group counseling; case management methodology; participative management theories and treatment methodology and service delivery.

Principles in related health services; State of Alaska Administrative Rules related to inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment programs and supported housing; supervision and performance management; leadership, wellness, team dynamics and staff development; project management, program planning and budgeting, fiscal management; organizational processes and design; budget and grant preparation and administration; care coordination and recovery-oriented treatments.

Skills to negotiate, compromise, facilitate, problem solve and provide conflict resolution; coach, mentor and train individuals and teams; develop and implement policies and procedures; effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

Ability to Perform independently in a fast paced, team based environment; effectively provide leadership, guidance and delegate to individuals and teams; lead and supervise other supervisory staff; interpret and apply pertinent provisions of Federal, State and County statues, rules and regulations related to the program services overseen; oversee service planning, coordination, utilization of resources, promote intended goals and outcomes; direct continuous quality improvement efforts; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees countywide, clients, government agencies, community groups/partners, and the public.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess or obtain Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (Level I or II).

This position may be subject to the following: Must not be excluded from participation in the federal health care programs (Medicaid, Medicare and other federally funded programs that provide health benefits); AND must not be excluded from participating in federal procurement (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and non-procurement activities.

The finalist for this position may be required to pass a criminal history background check; however, conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual for this position.

Must possess a current driver's license in the applicant's state of residence and an acceptable driving history. Must l obtain a copy of the driving record

Must possess and maintain proof of personal automobile liability insurance.

This is a full-time position, which is not eligible for overtime.

Typical Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with flexibility on weekends depending upon the needs of the department and program.

Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification , must have Menth Health first aid certification

Within one year of hire, complete Crisis Interventions Management Training.

Narcan training are also highly desirable

Incumbent must be enrolled in agency in-service training, in the treatment of substance use disorders as provided in the agency corporate orientation program for a minimum of one year of the completion of 16 contact hours of training in substance use disorders.

Suicide Intervention Skills Training (16 hrs.)

Trauma Informed Care training (8hrs)

Travel will be required for this position.

Three years of experience in a healthcare, treatment or rehabilitation setting required, with Community Behavioral Health setting preferred.

Possess knowledge of intake processes, skills, and methods of relating to the patients and families.

Possess knowledge of HIPAA, client confidentiality and client rights, which are subject to State and Federal laws and the ability to explain such in terms the patients is able to comprehend.

AKAIMS experience, preferred.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience may substitute for a degree.

Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with other departments.

Knowledge of the cultural, social, and economic background of the population being served.

Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities.

Submit to a state of Alaska Background check and pass and maintain an eligible background for this position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Drives a motor vehicle in the performance of some duties; uses depth perception; sits; stands; moves about the work area; operates a keyboard; lifts and carries up to 5 lbs.; speaks with a clear and audible voice; reads a 12-pt. font; hears a normal speech level.
