Patient Collection & Billing Account Specialist
Mountain View Eye Center is hiring for the position of Patient Collection & Billing Account Specialist! This is a full-time, exciting career opportunity for applicants with experience in the field of billing and coding who are willing to dive into an ever-changing environment and take up the reins as a member of our small but dedicated team of billing support staff.
Tasks:
Tasks include but are not limited to retrieving patient collection information from practice management system, contacting patients regarding past-due balances via phone, troubleshooting claims or patient account issues, answering patient questions regarding balances, following up on outstanding claims, assisting clinicians and opticians with billing questions, submitting online claims for vision payers, cross-training with other billing staff to cover all necessary tasks whenever needed, and various administrative tasks as requested.
Qualifications required:
Applicant should have a general working knowledge of billing and reimbursement processes. Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid is preferred but not required. Coding and reimbursement certifications requested but not required. Good written, oral, and telephone communications skills are a must, as is the ability to work independently and professionally and remain organized in a fast-paced office. Flexibility with changes is crucial, as our office is always growing and expanding. Applicant must be a team player and will be expected to work well with all departments and assist in any necessary tasks.
