TOTE Maritime Alaska, the leader in safe and reliable service to Alaska, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Resource and Maintenance Supervisor for our Anchorage office to join our team.

The Resource and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Alaska Operations Specialists and Maintenance Department, as well as providing back up management support to other departments. The work schedule will adjust depending on operational requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employee; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Daily supervision of the Operations Specialists and Maintenance Department. Including coordinating weekly scheduling of available resources.

Communicate with other departments to meet internal and external customer needs.

Implement and maintain quality controls that ensure the department is operating effectively and efficiently this includes verifying processes are followed, the output is accurate and performed timely. Make key day to day decisions. Perform key departmental duties in the manager’s absence.

Contribute input for process and production improvements to meet company goals.

Effectively perform additional duties and handle special projects as assigned.

Support other departments in the operations group.

Extract and analyze data from corporate software including not limited to – Lawson, Hyperion, Mainsail and CargoWise.

Lead role on projects, as assigned. Cross train with Terminal Operations Supervisor.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

Associate Degree - required

Minimum of five years related transportation experience, with two of those years in a supervisory role.

Excellent customer service skills.

Basic math skills.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good organizational skills.

Must be a team player.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Ability to work under pressure with a high level of accuracy.

Computer literate, with the ability to utilize software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
