General Functions

Under the direction of the Director - Information Technology and Business Intelligence, this position is responsible for the engineering, management and support of a complex enterprise information technology environment. This includes managing enterprise network, server, storage, and application systems with the aim of optimizing system security, availability, and operational efficiency. This position also assesses business and system requirements, drives business process reengineering, and manages disaster recovery.

Network Administration

Manage CIHA’s multi-site LANs/WANs network, ensuring network systems meet industry standard best practices.

Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues with network systems, working with subject matter experts and vendor support technicians as needed.

Serve as CIHA’s expert resource for cyber security, disaster recovery, business continuity, and capacity planning, including management of network intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Serve as the technical liaison with CIHA’s network/telephony provider.

Systems Administration

Manage CIHA’s IT infrastructure, including SANs, servers, switches, routers, desktops/laptops, and peripheral hardware.

Manage enterprise software systems, including VMWare virtualization software, NetApp systems, firewalls, email, virus protection systems, internet monitoring systems, etc.

Identify gaps between business requirements and system capabilities and recommend solutions.

Perform all operational functions for systems deployment, including design, installation, capacity planning, upgrades, and configuration.

Ensue safety and security of CIHA’s IT systems by overseeing backups of vital services to provide high availability, high performance and highly secure service implementations.

Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues with enterprise systems, working with subject matter experts and vendor support technicians as needed.

Ensure systems meet industry standard best practices.

IT Procurement

Recommend appropriate technology to meet growing and changing business needs.

Oversee procurement of computer hardware, software, and peripherals, including development of system specifications.

Work with vendors to negotiate and manage IT contracts and purchases.

Lead IT department participation in RFP processes for large scale service contracts.

Manage CIHA’s IT vendor contracts.

Project Management

Manage project timelines and tasks associated with hardware, software, network, and telephony implementation and upgrade projects.

Coordinate with vendors and staff to ensure timely completion of tasks associated with IT infrastructure projects.

Serve as the liaison with CIHA’s Project Management department, identifying network / telephony requirement for new office locations.

Manage help desk operations, including coordinating resource availability and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Skills/Abilities

Ability to work in a complex technical environment with minimal supervision

Ability to develop and implement new approaches, methods, procedures, and enhancements to improve network and system performance and achieve optimal performance standards

Demonstrated experience making decisions, taking action, meeting deadlines, and working independently

Knowledge of network technology, security guidelines, industry standards and best practices

Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
