Welcome to the Alaska Auction Company: Alaska’s first, foremost and largest auction house.
Our Auction House based in the heart of Anchorage is seeking an adaptive, honest and communicative person to join our team here on 76th. With two auctions every two weeks, and over a thousand lots at a time, we are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, whom can cope with a bustling work atmosphere. You will be expected to multitask between handling customers, the phone, photography, cataloging, moving variously sized and weighted objects, packaging those objects for shipping, drafting emails and spreadsheets, on top of potential deliveries and drop-offs (and more!). The list of duties is vast, and this is matched by a certain expectation of professionalism and accountability.
The main function of this position is to work closely with both the owners of the company, as well as the auction house team. You will be involved in providing effective change in order to improve customer retention and loyalty - helping to create a greater emotional and business connection between customers and the AK Auction. Day to day responsibilities are very hands on helping with the packaging, presentation and dispatching of the purchases to improve the customer journey. You will also be involved in the preparation of the auction catalogues as well as the execution of the online auctions.
The company is seeking a candidate who is interested in becoming involved in the auction world, with a passion for arts and antiques. It is preferred that you will have either a strong customer service background, or a strong degree of customer service etiquette on-phone or in-person. Experience in developing and implementing new company processes to help promote excellent brand awareness, client retention and customer journey is also a plus.
The pay is dependent on experience and ability to develop on the job.
Clean criminal record, a valid U.S. driver's license and no previous history of drug or alcohol dependency issues are REQUIREMENTS.
