We're a small local substance abuse testing company looking for a professional individual to fill the Specimen Collection Technician position. This position will report directly to the Office Manager and Owners.

Our business relies on providing outstanding service to our customers, and we require a high level of professionalism from our employees at all times. We're looking for a fast learner that can be a true team player.

The Specimen Collection Technician is responsible for performing specimen collection and testing services and completing corresponding paperwork in compliance with regulations, guidelines, and Chain of Custody.

In addition, the right candidate should have experience or ability to be perform office administration tasks, possess a working level knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), perform paperwork distribution, data entry, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, maintaining and retrieving records, filing, ordering supplies, point of sale transactions, mailing and shipping, and interacting with the general public in courteous and professional manner.

The right candidate will assume responsibility for all assigned tasks and ensure deadlines are met for organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

The position is approximately 15-20 hours per week, primarily Monday - Friday day shift, but on occasion it will require Saturday and after hours, as well as possible travel to various locations around the State.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Professional, responsible, punctual, and detail oriented.

Respectful to customers, upper management, and co-workers is a must.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working level knowledge of MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Prior experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Ability to work flexible hours on occasion.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

Must have reliable transportation and proof of vehicle insurance.

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED Equivalent. An Associate's degree or some college is preferred but not required. Education or experience in the medical field is also a plus. Phlebotomy certification a plus, but not required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a professional office setting with demonstrated strong administrative, multi-tasking, and customer service skills. Demonstrated experience performing tasks with a high level of consistency and with a strong attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Providing a mixture of administrative and clinical tasks. Routine duties that are repetitive yet essential include:

Performing specimen collection and testing services by collecting samples from clients such as urine, breath, hair and saliva collections. Properly completing corresponding paperwork in compliance with regulations, guidelines, and Chain of Custody (Training Provided). During busy seasons travel to and from client sites to perform these duties may be required with occasional overnight stays.

General office management responsibilities include; organizing office operations, interacting with customers and the general public, supply management, office administrative tasks, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, maintaining and retrieving records, filing, point of sale transactions, and mailing/shipping.

Assisting the Owners with schedule management, process improvement, and prioritizing tasks.

Corresponding via email and utilizing the Internet and other web interfaces to accomplish tasks.

Scanning and faxing time sensitive documents.

Responding to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Ability to manage time and tasks appropriately.

Safeguarding and respecting confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.

Professional and courteous demeanor with customers, co-workers, and upper management.

Other duties as assigned.

Starting wage is $13.50-$14.00/hour DOE. Depending on job performance, this position may be eligible for wage increase consideration after 4 months of employment. Interested applicants should reply to this posting with a cover letter and resume. Thank you.
