JOB TITLE: LANDLORD COORDINATOR TEMPORARY CONTRACT

HOURLY: UP TO 40 HOURS PER WEEK AT $25/HOUR

Seeking temporary contractual assistance with the implementation of a program to provide rent assistance and eviction avoidance services to people who suffered income loss due to COVID-19 and related government responses. This contract position will provide intensive outreach to a broad landlord base and directly assist landlords and tenants with eviction avoidance by providing information and assisting with the rent assistance application process – including bundling applications, verifying documentation, and requesting payments. It will also seek to reach more at-risk households and strengthen relationships between tenants and landlords.

This is a temporary contract that will provide the services described below, beginning at the date of the contract signing and ending no later than December 30, 2020. The contract may end earlier than December 30 if there are insufficient duties to perform. This is an hourly contract and the number of hours per week may fluctuate but may not exceed 40 hours in a week. The hours worked may involve day, evening, or weekend hours.

The Landlord Coordinator will:

report to an Engagement Specialist/Supervisor and is responsible for outreach to landlords in an effort to prevent evictions by assisting with the landlords and tenants to avoid and address rent delinquencies due to COVID-related income loss, including getting access to rent assistance.

attend training sessions to become thoroughly knowledgeable of the existing rent assistance processes; filling out applications and obtaining backup documentation; bundling documents; and landlord/tenant relations.

contact landlords to share information and schedule meetings to assist with the preparation of applications; document all contacts; number of applicants; and other data as requested.

work cooperatively and in coordination with other partners in the rent assistance program, and with other ancillary agencies who may interface with landlords and tenants.

Qualifications:

Must be able to build and maintain relationships with participating landlords and effectively engage new landlords.

Must have good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, attention to detail, and computer literacy.

Must have good oral communication skills; time management skills; and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to analyze problems and identify solutions; ability to engage a wide variety of people effectively and professionally.

Must be able to work independently and efficiently.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in property management, business, economics, psychology, or other related field or equivalent experience. Two years of experience in real estate, property management, or experience in an equivalent field preferred.
