JOB TITLE: ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST/SUPERVISOR TEMPORARY CONTRACT

HOURLY: 40 HOURS PER WEEK AT $40/HOUR

Seeking temporary contract assistance with the implementation of a program to provide rent assistance and eviction avoidance services to people who suffered income loss due to COVID-19 and related government responses. This contract position will provide intensive outreach to a broad landlord base and community facilitators and navigators to directly assist landlords and tenants with eviction avoidance by providing information and assisting with the rent assistance application process – including bundling applications, verifying documentation, and requesting payments. It will also seek to reach more at-risk households and strengthen relationships between tenants and landlords.

This is a temporary contract that will provide the services described below beginning at the date of the contract signing and ending no later than December 30, 2020. The contract may end earlier than December 30 if there are insufficient duties to perform. The hours worked may involve day and evening hours, but may not exceed 40 hours in a week.

The Engagement Specialist/Supervisor will:

oversee one or more Landlord Coordinators; provide training; monitor daily outreach activity reporting; and review and submit contract hours for the positional coordinators and performance outcomes.

become thoroughly knowledgeable of the existing rent assistance process; filling out applications and obtaining backup documentation; bundling documents; and landlord/tenant relations.

canvas the community and connect with those who can facilitate conversations with constituents, such as trade associations, labor unions, the COVID Peer Leader Navigators (CPLN) and others to reach potential households who have been financially impacted by loss of employment and the inability to pay rent.

work cooperatively with program administrators, and in coordination with partners, and with other ancillary agencies who may interface with landlords and tenants.

meet monthly with advisory group to report progress, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

Must be able to build and maintain relationships with participating landlords and effectively engage new landlords and with other community facilitators.

Must have good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, attention to detail, and computer efficiency.

Must have good oral communication skills; time management skills; and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to analyze problems and identify solutions; ability to engage a wide variety of people effectively and professionally.

Must be able to work independently and efficiently.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in property management, business, economics, psychology, or other related field or equivalent experience; supervisory experience; and three years of experience in real estate, property management, or experience in an equivalent field.
