First National Bank Alaska, FNBA, is currently seeking a HR Training & Development Specialist I to join our Human Resources Team. The position administers and provides subject matter expert support for one key human resources function and general support in various other functions which may include talent management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training and development

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Administers a key HR function or performs most aspects of support in areas such as compensation, benefits, talent management, training, and employee relations and provides general support in various areas of human resources relying on a good working knowledge of general HR practices, technology, bank policies and procedures.

2. May assist in recruiting efforts by conducting interviews for exempt-level positions, developing recruiting strategy by position and building professional networks; assist in developing and implements effective compensation, benefits and training programs; assist with various employee relations issues and investigations.

3. Serves as a subject matter expert in a key HR function and provides support to employees and all levels of management bank wide by analyzing the requests/issues and researching and recommending solutions, and escalates only the most complicated issues to senior human resources staff and/or management.

4. Compiles HR metrics, analyzes trends and makes recommendations to management; may participate in various market surveys and manage the data gathering, submission, and analysis.

5. Analyzes the existing structure of HR program(s), identifies and implements workflow efficiencies, and makes recommendations for changes depending on organizational and managerial needs, strategic direction, best practices and changes in regulatory environment.

6. Prepares communications aimed at effectively educating all employees about the HR practices and initiatives, their impact and changes; facilitates training within the area(s) of expertise for employees and various levels of management.

7. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: Four years human resources experience with expertise in one of the following: recruiting, compensation, benefits, training and development or employee relations; a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field may be substituted for 2 years’ experience. Knowledge of HR best practices and regulatory environment.

Preferred: PHR, SPHR, CCP, CBP or equivalent professional certification. Experience in the banking industry.
