Full Time Benefit Eligible

Anchorage - Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00.

Summary/Objective

The Human Resource Coordinator will provide support to the Human Resource Director and collaborate with the Human Resource Admin Assistant; by planning, evaluating and executing human resource activities. These activities include but are not limited to administration of new hire process recruitment, employee benefits, compensation administration, maintenance of employee records and assisting the HR Director with HR projects.

Required Education:

4-year Degree in Human Resource or related field or Equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education

Preferred Experience:

4 years of general human resource experience, 2 years benefits administration, and staff hiring experience.

Job Description

Summary/Objective: The Human Resource Coordinator will provide support to the Human Resource Director and collaborate with the Human Resource Admin Assistant; by planning, evaluating and executing human resources activities. These activities include but are not limited to administration of new hire process recruitment, employee benefits, compensation administration, maintenance of employee records and assisting the HR Director with HR projects.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for processing employee status changes(promotion, salary, review, activation’s, inactivation’s,

address changes, work schedule changes,) in a timely fashion, collaborating with the HR Admin Assistant to

ensure proper processing, data entry and submission to support networks, programs and outside agencies.

Administers Health and welfare plans; including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required

documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.

Responsible for per-employment process such as screening applicants, participating in interview, and posting of

jobs to Job Boards, websites and newspaper ads.

Completes New Hire Staff and DSP Employee e-files ensuring documents are correct, accurately completed,

named correctly and in the right file folder.

Works in collaboration with the HR Admin assistant with the CDPCS Transfer Point; ensures all documents

placed in the transfer point by CDPCS are finalized and placed in the employee’s e-file, entered in the data base,

submitted to internal department and outside agencies as required.

Maintains all pre- and post-employment documents are completed accurate and submitted to payroll, personnel

records, BCP and MCI documents etc. Coordinator will need to collaborate with the HR Director and HR

Admin Assistant on the parts of the process the complete.

Completes all Unemployment requests, and employment verifications, back up by the HR Admin Assistant when

needed.

Assist the Director or Manager that has had a Workers Compensation Injury to obtain the proper documents,

receives completed documents ensures accuracy, forwarding to the HR Director to complete the Workers

Compensation Employer form and who will submit the completed packet to Northern Adjustors. The

Coordinator will file all the documents in the Workers Compensation e-file.

Performs customer service function by answering employee requests and questions.

Mails, Sans, and e-mails documents, assists or prepares correspondence as requested, and performs other

clerical functions.

Submits Fingerprints to the State of Alaska Background Check Program, forwards MCI Enrollment/Update

forms to Access Alaska Inc.’s Billing department

Reconciles Benefits Statements, Survey Monkey Invoices and creates PO’s for HR purchases and submits

originals to Accounts Payable and maintains e-copies for HR records by month day and year.

Assists with the preparation of the Annual Review process.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

All or Combination of Home Office and Professional Office environment.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Equipment Used This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel :

Occasional travel to AAI Offices outside of Anchorage.

Working Authorization:

All positions at Access Alaska Inc. require a State of Alaska fingerprint background check prior to starting work; that results in receiving first a Provisional approval and finally a Five (5) yr. Approval.
