Kennel Technician: Anchorage Animal Care and Control (Anchorage, AK)

Anchorage Animal Care & Control (AACC) is looking for a Kennel Technician to join the team! This position will provide general care, cleaning, and feeding of animals housed at Anchorage Animal Care and Control (AACC). The employee will maintain cleanliness of all areas of the kennel department and the shelter facility and will assist customers with animal adoptions, relinquishments, and claims.

The Municipality of Anchorage has contracted Denali Universal Services to operate all aspects of AACC since 1999. The shelter has an annual intake of 4,500-4,800 domestic animals. AACC's programs include partnerships with private rescue groups to save lives; an active public relations program and social media presence; outreach programs such as the Pet Food Bank, Shelter Cat Storytime, and dog-bite prevention program for elementary school students; post-adoption behavior support; and foster and volunteer programs. AACC enforces Anchorage Municipal Code Title 17 to ensure public safety and the humane care of animals. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum age of 18

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Animal Handling experience

Customer Service experience

Commercial housekeeping or janitorial experience
