Summary of Position: Provides direct clinical services to clients in the residential treatment program. Performs assessment interviews (intake), collects and records client data, provides direction and guidance through individual counseling sessions, maintains client charts, develops individualized treatment plans, and guides clients through the treatment process. This position facilitates educational and process groups for clients. The counselor adheres to Federal and State confidentiality laws, provides case management for clients through the transitional phase of treatment, and provides leadership in Aftercare planning. The counselor assists clients in the discharge-referral process and is responsible for client chart compliance. This position supervises clients in social, recreational, cultural and community related activities. Must be able to work various shifts (weekend/evening) and pass background check.
