Trappers Creek “ Purveyors of Fine Quality Smoked Products. A fish smoking and packaging company.

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager & Company Owner

DATE: July 2019

Overview: Production Manager oversees all production activities in the raw materials seafood cutting room and prepared foods packaging areas of Trappers Creek seafood manufacturing. Supervises the production crew to ensure excellence and efficiency of processing commercial and custom products. Maintains Trappers Creek high standard of quality and compliance with all best practices.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

Responsible for production, packaging and warehouse operations and workforce. Analyze and streamline the production processes.

Ensure production goals are met and exceeded.

 Ensure Occupational Health and Safety Act, HAACP, and Trappers Creek Corporate Policies compliance. Promote and administer Food Safety compliance, FDA Compliance, SSOP, GMP and HAACP paperwork maintenance and proper filing. Champion goals and objectives around Food Safety Compliance to decrease liability on a continual basis.

 Train and promote safe work practices and use observations and employee evaluations to check on employees work habits. Use the companys disciplinary policy to enforce safe work practices.

 Responsible for scheduling, training and support for the production crew.

 Responsible for controlling production costs and managing inventory of our products, production and boxing supplies. Demonstrate an expert working knowledge of the inventory.

 Keeps machinery maintenance up to date, orders parts necessary and maintains manuals

 Operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Ability to drive a manual vehicle for company business.

 Willingness to jump on the line with the crew when needed to assist Seafood processing duties including receiving, cutting, packaging, printing labels, feeding, pulling, etc.

 Responsible for various inventory control functions, including proper stocking, scanning, rotation, and coordinating of weekly and monthly physical inventories.

 Perform other tasks as requested by the company Owner and Plant Manager.

Experience Required: (essential functions are in bold)

Ability to successfully manage a production department.

Ability to effectively manage people.

Previous processing experience required (at least 5 years food or seafood).

Ability to work independently.

Ability to perform work assignments at an acceptable productivity level and evaluate others performance.

Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Moving of product up to 60lbs during the shift, infrequent moving of 80lbs.

Bending and stooping during the shift.

Prolonged standing or walking during the shift.

Basic Education Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years of food production/manufacturing experience.

Additional onboarding information:

3-month probationary period includes a review after 30 days and a review after 90 days

Vacation after a year
