JOB SUMMARY :
This position will report to our office in Anchorage or Washington and will primarily be working on projects within Alaska or the Pacific Rim.
The Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor including operating hand / power tools of all types : small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Perform general manual labor including : cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble and debris.
Perform general manual labor to include use of hand tools and provide manual labor support for field scientist during excavation activities and sample collection.
Identify any hazards as observed for safety of personnel and equipment.
Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment and reduce personal exposure and potential spreading of hazardous contaminants by removing material from the job site.
Provide assistance to project manager, site superintendent, foreman, operator, carpenter or other laborer and support staff in the field.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS :
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
