GCI s Engineer I, Architecture .and.amp; Planning will perform research, data gathering and analysis of technology and business roadmaps for Network Services. Produce reports and presentations interpreting results and providing actionable tasks. Draft documentation for design standards and guidelines for engineering and operations at the direction of Architecture and Planning teams. Following standards using engineering principles; participate with engineering functions as needed for company initiatives requiring interdisciplinary leadershipand.nbsp;Duties Performed at all Levels:Essential Duties of Position: Participate with lifecycle analysis of new and existing systems; document phase-out schedule and plans.Document and produce 1-2 year capital expense and 5 year forward looking plans consistent with the 5 year technology roadmap.Support business case development for new product and network initiatives; aiding with capital and operating expense validation in new product capital requestDocument capacity usage, traffic plans and engineering risk analyses for Network ServicesTechnologies in support of the 1-2 year and 5 year plans.Provide support with development of requirements for new initiatives and products that require new Network capabilities. Requirements include system design, standards compliance, availability targets, operating performance metrics, operational support and staff training.Additional Job Requirements: This is an entry level position for the degreed engineerand.nbsp; Must be competent at performing basic engineering calculations, design, and implementation for further review by senior staff.
