Director Cloud Platform Solution Architecture, provides technical leadership and set the design standards, guidelines,

and roadmaps for a professional team of Solution Architects. Support the

cross-departmental five-year forecast model. This

role promotes and ensures a collaborative, hands-on work with the various

Enterprise Cloud Platform service lines to ensure practical, well thought out

solutions are produced and held to a high degree of quality. These roles will not be solely focused on

departmental aspirations, but company wide initiatives and work across multiple

business units to produce solutions that meet company wide goals.Essential Duties of Position: This position requires the

Director to: Fully own the mission, goals, operations,

and results of the department. This

responsibility is non-delegable.

Provide strong leadership to senior management team/s and direct reports. This includes generating

enthusiasm and shared commitment; identifying and setting new directions;

teaching, growing, and empowering; owning outcomes; and leading by

example. This responsibility is

non-delegable. Specific leadership

duties include:

Promoting the

vision and tone for the department, consistent with company culture and mission;

Providing clear

goals and performance expectations.

Hiring

individuals who can accomplish those goals and meet those expectations, and

providing them the open communications, training, tools, and mentoring they

need to be successful and develop professionally, and a development path

commensurate with capabilities and potential.

Providing clear

and accurate feedback to individuals and teams on a timely and consistent

basis. Identifying and addressing performance problems early and effectively

before they damage GCIs interests and demoralize other employees. These processes include annual performance reviews,

compensation adjustments, promotions, demotions, transfers, and disciplinary

actions up to and including termination.

Develops, publishes and evangelizes the

overall infrastructure platform guidance and implements the governance for the

Enterprise Infrastructure Team

Help

set the direction on infrastructure platforms

Champions

innovation and can articulate the business value of the proposed solutions

Work

hands-on with Enterprise Cloud Platform developers and various Serviceline

customers to fully leverage Serviceline capabilities

Help

set the direction on future technology by assembling customer feedback and

bringing this information to roadmap and other critical initiative discussions

Guide

development teams to help them successfully utilize Enterprise Cloud Platform

Serviceline offerings.

Lead

the effort to set the direction on Highly Available (HA) services.

Participates

in one of more Serviceline teams

Dissect

architectural initiatives into tangible phases which include deliverable feature

sets

Transform

requests from many sources not limited to architectural initiatives and

customer requests into work units that describe the work and all the acceptance

criteria thereof.

Participate in defining, implementing, and administering

architecture guidance and governance for the entire GCI enterprise by

collaborating with other Architecture groups throughout the companys business

units.

Continue

to research, evaluate, and refine the processes and tools of the above areas.

Stays current on relevant infrastructure

offerings

Works in conjunction with the orchestration

teams to achieve zero downtime on the infrastructure platforms

Oversee the development of POC's and reference

architectures to ensure consistent patterns are clear and easy to follow. Implements architectural guidance and

governance tools, frameworks and processes

Produces, publishes, and evangelizes

Infrastructure-as-Code development methodology and provides oversight and

direction for this methodology as practiced in the Enterprise Cloud Platform

group.

Ensure the Enterprise Cloud Platform Solution Architecture,

and Serviceline teams adhere to best practices around software development

Ensure Enterprise Infrastructure Pipeline

goals align and integrate with infrastructure Serviceline goals

Leads by example for all software development

practice concerns
