RIVER is a Southern inspired restaurant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. RIVER is located on the South bank of the beautiful Black Warrior River between the entertainment district of downtown Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama. We are looking for passionate individuals, with a strong work ethic, a sense of urgency and the desire to become part of a chef driven restaurant concept. It is very important that we find someone who can grow with us, loves what they do, and looks forward to working in a positive environment.
POSITION SUMMARY: Delights restaurant patrons with quality food preparation and presentation. Works to create the highest guest satisfaction possible while keeping the standard policies in place.
ESSENTIAL PROFESSIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Handles food safely and eliminates risk of food borne illness.
Prepares hot and cold food items following standardized recipes.
Manages food cost control procedures by reducing food waste.
Exhibits an attitude of teamwork
Takes pride in the quality and preparation of food that he/she is sending out to the guest Cleans the production areas as necessary.
Informs manager when product levels get low.
Attends classes and meetings on food sanitation, food preparation and food presentation. Conducts daily inspections of production areas.
Recognizes and reports all necessary maintenance promptly.
Fills in where needed to ensure efficient operations. Suggests improvements to the operating format.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Stands during the entire shift.
Works frequently in a hot and damp environment.
Reaches, bends, stoops, shakes, stirs, and wipes.
Lifts and carries sacks and cases of up to 70-lb. during shift.
Reading skills required. Immerses hands in water frequently.
Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, burns, slips and trips.
